1 Day PODD Overview

A one day workshop offering practical strategies for communication partners to effectively support individuals learning to use PODD communication books.

Gain hands-on experience and essential skills to foster meaningful communication for people with communication disability.

Who is this workshop for?
Occupational therapists, educators, speech pathologists, support workers, families and friends of people with communication disability.

Learning outcomes:

• Understand PODD language organisation and its role in communication development. Learn how to use direct access 1-page and 2-page PODD communication books.
• Develop skills to create an aided language learning environment.
• Gain practical experience evaluating communication tools using the AARCH framework.
• Explore case studies to improve the implementation of communication systems.
• Build confidence in supporting autonomous communication.
