Amy Polglase Administration Officer
After graduating from her teaching degree, Amy moved to the UK to work as a teacher in primary schools of South-East London for two years. While there, she pursued her passion of travelling with every opportunity, exploring Europe. After returning to Australia, Amy worked in many Education roles at various schools such as SSO, OSHC director and classroom teacher. She worked within Early Childhood classrooms until the end of 2018 when she decided to change things up with a fresh start in admin at Two Way Street. Amy joined our admin team in early 2019 and since then she has added to her admin role, as workshop coordinator, PODD team manager, and resource creator. Amy is a trained facilitator of the 2 day accessible information workshop, training organisations in the creation of Easy English documentation.
Amy’s passion for equality and inclusion, stemming from her teaching days, has been ignited again while meeting the amazing clients of Two Way Street who use AAC. Amy has completed professional development courses on working with individuals on the Autism spectrum, various literacy programs and movements as well as workshops on Mindfulness. Throughout school and university Amy majored in Visual Art and is passionate about art as a means of self expression.
When Amy is not at work you will often find her creating art (acrylics or origami), reading or at the beach with her two dogs, Theodore and Frankie.
