This online course is an introduction to the importance of communication even when the words aren’t there yet. We will introduce you to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) which can be used with or without spoken words and includes various communication strategies that use pictures, devices, iPads and communication books.
We will also share some tips and strategies to help get you started.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who has a person in their lives who may not rely on speech alone to understand and be understood by others.
You may be a parent, grandparent, teacher, support worker, friend or service provider.
An introduction for those learning about the power of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and is a great first step to understand why and how a person can communicate when they don’t yet have verbal speech.
