Kate Munro Senior Speech Pathologist
Kate is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and has worked as a speech pathologist in South Australia since 2012. She is passionate about the world of AAC, with this passion developing during her university days. In addition to the wonderful contributions she makes to Two Way Street, Kate has been a tutor and casual lecturer for Flinders University’s Disability and Social Inclusion subject on the topic of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and is a Clinical Educator of Speech Pathology students.
Kate has completed both the introductory and advanced Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) workshops, and is a PROMPT trained therapist. She has a variety of special interests within her work at Two Way Street, and is particularly interested in providing training and support to the communities around people who use AAC. She’s also a valued member of our communication access team. Alongside other Two Way Street members, Kate understands the impact that communication can have on mental health and strives to help her clients navigate difficult conversations and topics.
After hours, Kate enjoys relaxing in her backyard (martini in hand) with her wife, two dogs, and cat. Kate has a passion for gardening and you will often find her cooking up something delicious using produce from her veggie patch.
