Rebecca (Bec) Hudson Senior Speech Pathologist
Bec is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, who has joined the Two Way Street team with over 5 years of experience as a Speech Pathologist. In her previous role as the AAC Clinician, Bec was dedicated to providing and innovating AAC services for individuals on the autism spectrum (autistic people). She has experience in AAC across a range of settings and environments and values spending her time being a Clinical Educator to speech pathology students or mentoring new graduate Speech Pathologists.
Bec has considerable experience providing individualised coaching and support to communication partners (caregivers, support workers, parents, teachers, SSOs, other allied health professionals) and considers this a vital component of successful AAC. She values innovation and providing support that is tailored to the individuals that she has the privilege to work with. Bec enjoys working with people of all ages to support them and their key support people to realise the potential benefits of AAC for them. This includes people who mostly use verbal speech, but could benefit from having access to AAC. Bec’s favourite part of her job is empowering others, supporting clients to be inspired by themselves and the people who they support to be inspired by them (an empowerment/ inspiration triangle).
When she is not passionately discussing the benefits of AAC, Bec can be found spending quality time with the people closest to her, playing with her boisterous and goofy puppy, planning/ embarking on her next travel adventure (pre-covid), or reminiscing about /lamenting her last travel adventure (post-covid).
