Tiana Scholz Speech Pathologist
Tiana is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with experience enabling individuals in a variety of environments, including homes, schools, community settings, hospital-based care, and even aquatic therapy. Through her studies and clinical work, she developed a strong appreciation for the role of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) in fostering independence, participation, and connection. This led to her passion for working alongside people with communication disability and their support networks.
Tiana is committed to ensuring AAC is embedded in real and meaningful interactions across all environments. She values a collaborative approach, working closely with AAC users, families, educators, and therapy teams to reduce communication barriers and build confidence in communication.
Tiana’s Research Honours project explored the diversity of stories produced by autistic pre-adolescents. This work highlighted the importance of recognising and enabling the unique communication styles of neurodivergent individuals. A highlight of this experience was presenting her research findings at the national Speech Pathology Australia conference. These insights continue to shape her approach, reinforcing her belief that everyone has the right to share their stories in their own way.
When she’s not at work, you’ll find Tiana soaking up the sun at the beach, camping, or listening to music while traveling. She also enjoys spending time at home (where she’s surrounded by a growing collection of plants) caring for her little dog, or relaxing with a book and a cup of tea.
