Peta McMechan Business Support Officer
Peta is often the first point of contact at Two Way Street, and her friendly and knowledgeable demeanor ensures that every interaction is welcoming, efficient and well supported. With extensive experience in administration, event management and customer service, she plays a key role in keeping things running smoothly – from coordinating workshops and events to billing and working with our inclusive communities clients.
Beyond her professional expertise, Peta is deeply passionate about supporting other families and individuals navigating their journey and sharing their experiences. As a dedicated advocate for people with communication disability, she has been actively involved with FAST Australia (Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics) and the Angelman Syndrome Association at both national and state levels.
As a parent of a child who uses AAC, Peta brings valuable lived-experience to her role. She understands first-hand the challenges and triumphs of navigating communication support and is always ready to provide reassurance and guidance to those reaching out.
When she’s not busy keeping everything on track at Two Way Street, Peta loves to travel and collect beautiful trinkets – when she can find a moment of spare time!
